(D)iversion, (E)xpression, (A)cceptance and (L)ove – DEAL is the way to Deal with it!
Today, whenever we want to know about something, all we do is take our device (mobile, desktop, laptop..) and open google. We enter our search term and voila! we obtain the information we seek from so many sources!
All this happens in a matter of seconds! We learn from unknown individuals who have shared their knowledge for the world to learn!
So, how did the internet come to being? In the 1950, when the electronic computers started getting into the picture, individuals started creating more and more information on their system. But, they could not share the knowledge! Then they started connecting the systems – one computer at a time to create a network of computers that could freely exchange information. Houses, districts, cities, countries and finally continents – today you have the complete world connected!
In today’s knowledge based economy, information is the currency – by helping others learn, we learn along with them as well. From the simplest of words to mathematics and general knowledge, by sharing we all learn more!
Every one of us has the ability to teach. Each one of us has the ability to make an individual understand the concepts and information that we know.
Each one of us is a teacher as well as student all through our lives.
Everyday, we learn something new. Sometimes it is on relationships, sometimes on manners, sometimes on communication, sometimes about the world, sometimes about technology and so on. The moment you start teaching or explaining the concepts to someone else, you will see that you are getting much stronger in that concept and you acquire a deeper level of knowledge.
It is said that – “If you can simplify the concept so that your 90 years old grandma can understand it, then you have truly mastered it!”
So, don’t be afraid – teach the world what best you know and receive with open arms, all that the world has to teach you!
The all too familiar tadak-tadak dhadak-dhadak sound on a train travel – who doesn’t love it! For those train travel aficionados like me, this even is a lullaby that we miss while on a flight or a bus! Ever wondered the source of that sound? The wheels on the carriage of a train are standard fixture. The railway track is nothing but a series of connected rails. When the wheels move from one rail to another, they pass over the gaps between the rails and this creates the soothing tadak-tadak dhadak-dhadak. Faster rhythm when the train is faster and slower rhythm when the speed is slower!
Imagine how the journey would have been without this sound — like you are in a vacuum with only the landscapes whizzing past. Monotonous. Imperfections of the track can be a good thing!
How would it be if we had a good rain and nothing to show for it? All the water drains away without a trace and the land dries up — would you still be able to appreciate the rain? The puddles in which we jump, play and watch the water being splashed on unsuspecting motorists and pedestrians actually are a source of joy and act as a remnant of the rain. They bring about a few laughs, help recollect special moments and emphasise on the point that life need not always be perfect — the imperfections of the path can actually result in something joyous!
Ever since childhood, we have been filling up one consistent field across forms — mark of identification. If not for the scar, the mole, the extra finger — what would have helped set you apart?
How would life be without the music, the drama, the challenges, the special moments? Monotonous. Let a few puddles, gaps and scars be there — enjoy the imperfections!
